4285 pilgrims perform darshan, total yatra crosses 3.3 lakh

JAMMU, July 29: On 32nd days of 55 days long annual pilgrimage of Baba Amarnath ji shrine, 4285 yatris performed darshan in the holy cave shrine today.
With this, total number of yatris, who have paid obeisance to Lord Shiva ever since the pilgrimage started on June 28, has reached 3,31,792.
Yesterday’s 3286 yatris had performed darshan at Baba Amarnath cave shrine. The number went up to 4285 today.
A fresh batch of 915 pilgrims left for the cave shrine of Shri Amarnath ji this morning from shorter route of Baltal while 541 yatris left for darshan of Lord Shiva from traditional track of Nunwan, Pahalgam.
The yatra was progressing smoothly, official sources said.
Meanwhile, a small batch of 354 devotees today left the Jammu base camp for the cave shrine of Amarnath ji.
A convoy of 12 vehicles, carrying the 32nd batch of 354 devotees, left the Yatri Niwas at Bhagwati Nagar at around 4.50 am to pay obeisance at the cave shrine in the Kashmir Valley.
The batch included 225 men, 28 women and eight children, apart from 93 priests. They reached twin base camps of Pahalgam and Baltal in the Valley tonight.
With today’s batch, a total of 49,444 pilgrims have left Jammu base camp for Amarnath ji shrine so far in the official convoy. This indicated that very less number of pilgrims have preferred to proceed to the yatra in official convoy from Bhagwati Nagar and majority of devotees have reached Nunwan and Baltal directly.
