The meeting, while welcoming the Floriculture Mission and appreciated its implementations in Himachal under IHBT CSIR , Palampur where it is implemented as per the need of farmers and scientific interventions, alleged that in J&K it is being implemented in haphazard manner with out any proper planning. It said the high value planting material is to be distributed to farmers on wrong time without seeing its utility practically some high value planting material need sophisticated and protected environment for its growing and if it is distributed free of cost that creates disenchantment among those who are not its beneficiaries.
The meeting said the IHBT Palampur takes farmers share in their State Floriculture Mission and it make a sense of responsibility and success.
Hind Bushan, a member JK Kissan Advisory Board said that in the erstwhile Doda district there are 1000 flower growers cultivating Marigold and they fulfilled Modi Mission by doubling their income from traditional crops. They need planting material which suits their area if we get benefit under Ministry we should feel happy otherwise such planting material which is costly and only benefit Corporate Sector for selling planting material it will have no fun of scientific interventions for flower growers of Kathua, Poonch and Reasi. The meeting demanded distribution of planting material as per their choice.
