Singh CC beats Sunderbani XI, levels series by 1-1

JAMMU, Dec 30: Singh CC’s under-14 team beat Sunderbani CC by 21 runs in the ongoing Under-14 Cricket Series of 35 overs and leveled the series by 1-1, being played at Govt Higher Secondary School Akhnoor, near here today.
SSP Mohan Lal Bhagat and Deputy Director (Indoor) SKPA Udhampur were the chief guests of today’s match.
Speaking on the occasion, both the chief guests congratulated the winning and runner-up teams as well as appreciated the organizing committee and other partner agencies for the successful conduct of the mega event. The SSP appealed to lure youths towards sports and to make them aware to stay away from drugs.
Singh CC won the toss and elected to bat first. Batting first, Singh CC scored 130 by losing all wickets in 28.3 overs wherein Amarjeet Singh made 30 runs, Akash Singh scored 23 runs and Arun Kumar contributed 21 runs. From the bowling side, Ayush got 6 wickets, while Piyush, Rahul, Lakshit and Ridham shared 1 wicket each.
In reply, Sunderbani XI failed to chase the set target and bundled out at 109 in 32.2 overs in which Mayank scored 22 runs, while Ridham and Rahul scored 17 and 16 runs respectively. From the bowling side, Arun Kumar got 4 wickets, whereas Mayank and Raghav shared 2 wickets and Ritish and Vedant clinched 1 wicket each.
Arun Kumar was declared as man of the match, while Ayush was adjudged as best bowler. Nikhil Jamwal and Sushil Gupta acted as match officials and Rahul Gupta was the scorer.
Deepak Sharma, Rajinder Sharma, Chander Kiran, Mannu, Raj Kumar, Parveen, Deepak Kumar and Chandan were present during the event.
