JAMMU, Jan 3: Getting the better of Sunny Cricket Club by a narrow margin of 20 runs in the summit clash, Ajay Cricket Club lifted the title trophy of Ajit Sharma and Rishu Mahajan Memorial Cricket Tournament at Palli, Bari Brahamana, near here today.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Ajay Cricket Club scored 140 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Anku top scored with 42 runs off 30 balls, while Shotu contributed 38 runs off 40 balls.
In reply, Sunny Cricket Club bundled out for 120 runs, thus lost the match by 20 runs. Bhanu and Sunny contributed 32 and 28 runs to the total respectively.
Sanjeev Sharma, PRO to Union Minister, Dr Jitendra Singh was the chief guest on the occasion, while cricket promoter Prithvi Raj Sharma, Sarpanch Randhir Sharma, Advocate Sukesh Sharma, Advocate Mahendra Bhardwaj and Rajeev Sharma were the guest of honour.
