JAMMU, Aug 3: As part of Golden Jubilee celebrations of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), KV No 2 Jammu Cantt organized the 44th Sub-Regonal Basketball Tournament, here today.
6 teams drawn from KVs of Jammu are participating in the Tournament.
Raman Bhalla, Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture was the chief guest on the occasion.
The Tournament began with the lighting of the traditional lamp by the chief guest in the backdrop of the recitation of Deep Vandana Sholokas and Shankhnaad. Apart from other audience, VMC members of the Vidyalaya were also present on the occasion.
Earlier, School Principal, M Laxmi Naraynan presented welcome address.
The chief guest declared the event open by releasing balloons carrying the banner of KVS Golden Jubilee Celebrations.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Bhalla congratulated the entire KV fraternity for smooth and successful completion of 50 years, besides advising the players to play with a sporting spirit.
