POONCH, Jan 31: Poonch-XI lifted Pir Panjal Football League title, organised by Indian Army at Operation Hill Stadium, Mendhar, here today.
The League was inaugurated on January 28, which culminated today wherein six teams from Poonch district participated.
The final match was played between Mendhar XI and Poonch XI wherein the latter emerged winners by 4 goals to nil.
The event was witnessed by dignitaries from Army and civil administration and local population. The winning team was awarded with cash prizes, medals and sports kit, while top scorer, best player and best goalkeeper were also awarded.
Army and civil administration complimented each and every player who had participated in the tournaments and wished them good luck for future.
