JAMMU, Feb 4: Lambasting the BJP-controlled J&K Administration for playing with the future of the educated unemployed youth, working president of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Raman Bhalla today strongly opposed the decision of the present regime to withdraw all the posts referred for recruitment before October 31, 2019.
In press statement here today, Bhalla observed that it was another gimmick of the Government to deny employment opportunities to the local youth of J&K. “Before October 31, 2019, residents of J&K had a job and land rights and only local youth were eligible to apply for the posts advertised by Public Service Commission (PSC) and Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board (J&KSSB)”, he pointed out, adding, “By withdrawing all such posts J&K government is trying to play with the future of local youth.”
“This is nothing but a cruel joke with those thousands of candidates who have applied for these posts and many of those have cleared written tests”, Bhalla said and warned that Congress will oppose such anti-people decisions of the J&K administration with full force.
Bhalla expressed his anguish over the decision of the J&K Government to withdraw all the posts referred to the PSC) and SSB before October 31, 2019, for which selections have not been finalized till date.
Bhalla also expressed shock over Govt’s move of abolition of SRO-43 which will be grave injustice with Government employees of J&K. He termed the proposal as another anti-employee dictate of Govt resulting in more anxiety and frustration who have already been working in extremely adverse working conditions since long and now it was expected that Government will adopt pro-employee attitude to give them a sigh of relief but instead they are being intimidated, harassed and humiliated on one pretext or the other.
Former Minister Yogesh Sawhney in a statement also opposed the UT Government’s decision to withdraw all the posts referred to the Public Service Commission and Services Selection Board before October 31, 2019, for which selections have not been finalized till date. Slamming the Government, Sawhney stated the Government is playing with the future of the youth of J&K. The unemployment rate among young people is very high across the nation and in Jammu and Kashmir especially. While the Government should try to remedy that, it is doing exactly the opposite of what is needed, Sawhney said.
Sawhney termed the decision foolish and shameful saying that students and youth are suffering at the behest of an ignorant government. While it isn’t the fault of the people, then why is it that they will suffer? What about students who worked hard to earn those jobs and now just because the administration did not finalize the results, they’ll lose them with no fault of their own.
Lambasting Prime Minister Modi-led government for taking actions triggering unemployment, he said that widespread unemployment is prevalent in the country. The Youth is in distress because big factories are shutting down, investment is not coming, and the number of government jobs is shrinking. Under the BJP Government at the Center, the condition of youth in J&K is only worsened with every year. Despite being qualified and skilled, many youngsters are unable to find unemployment, he added.
Meanwhile, National Student Union of India (NSUI), J&K unit has also strongly opposed the Government decision and warned to launch massive agitation across J&K. State vice president Vikas Badhoria warned the UT Administration to withdraw this most controversial order or face decisive agitation of students across J&K.
Shiv Sena, J&K Unit led by Manish Sahni and Jammu Muslim Front led by Qazi Imran termed the decision of the J&K Administration as most surprising and socking and warned the people at the helm of affairs to roll back or face the agitation. They said with such anti-people and anti-youth decisions, the LG’s Administration seems to be hell bent to disturb peace in the region.
They said lakhs of unemployed youth of J&K have paid fee in tens of crores to the UPSC and SSB which has gone to the coffers of the Government during last several years. Is the Government going to return that money to the youth. This is another big theft on the pockets of lakhs of hapless unemployed J&K youth by the present Government. It seems that such anti-people and anti-youth decisions are being taken on the ill-advise of some BJP leaders by LG’s Administration, they asserted.
