UDHAMPUR, Feb 7: A Scooty rider was killed while pillion rider sustained critical injuries when their Scooty rolled down in a nallah near PHC in Khoon area of Majalta today.
Reports said that a Scooty bearing registration number JK02BL-2289 was on its way from Ramkot to village Bilaspur and when it reached near PHC Khoon, the driver lost control over the Scooty and it rolled down into about 50 ft gorge this evening.
The Police and locals rushed to the spot and took the injured persons to PHC Khoon but there was no doctor or staff in the hospital. Locals then rushed them to PHC Ramkot in district Kathua for the treatment where doctors declared Scooty rider brought dead.
The deceased has been identified as Bodh Raj (32), son of Kamalu, resident of Gurrah Kalyal in Tehsil Billawar. The injured was identified Raj Kumar (35), son of Mohan Lal, hailing from Bilaspur in Tehsil Majlata of district Udhampur. The police registered a case FIR No. 13/2022 U/S 279/337 IPC and started investigation.
