JAMMU, Feb 7: Levelling serious allegations against the ruling BJP, All India Jat Maha Sabha (AIJMS) today asserted that on the behest of ruling Government in the Centre, the Election Commission of India has beleaguered the aspirations of the entire Jat community and the farmers.
In a statement issued, here the president of the Sabha and former Mayor, Ch Manmohan Singh alleged that it is the deep conspiracy of the BJP to give a setback to Jats and farmers, who live in clusters in the constituencies starting from Lakhanpur to Mendhar as all the constituencies have been reserved to annul the voice of Jats.
He said all seats from Kathua besides Ramgarh Bishnah, RS Pura, Marh, Khour, Mendhar and part of Samba have been reserved while Suchetgarh, the bastion of Jats has been dissolved and the Nowshera is merged with Anantnag exposing the unfairness of ruling Government explicitly.
“This is a cruel attempt of the Government to muzzle the voice of Jats and farmers”, Singh said, adding that the Jats will not tolerate injustice by remaining silent.
Singh mentioned that in the previous regime there were four Legislators including two MLCs from the Jat community. In view of the present scenario, there will be no one in the Government to represent the Jat community in near future, he added.
He requested the Election Commission to rethink its decision as per the present draft the whole Jat community will be debarred from reaching the Assembly.
