Yaar Mohd, Kanmat, Manbinder emerge winners in shot-put

POONCH, Aug 12: Yaar Mohammad, Kanmat Hussain and Manbinder Singh secured first, second and third positions respectively in the shot-put event organized during two day long District Athletic Championship by District Athletic Association under the aegis of J&K Amateur Athletic Association at Gulpur ground today.
In Discuss Throw, Ishtiaq Ahmed claimed first position, whereas Sarfraz Ahmed and Gurpreet Singh claimed second and third positions respectively.
In under 19 girls (100 meter), Majeeda Begum, Ruksana Kouser and Iram Banoo secured first, second and third positions respectively.
In 800 meters, Nagdh Tubassm, Riya Sharma and Ravneet Kour bagged first, second and third positions respectively, whereas in 1500 meters, Nagdh Tabassum, Nazira Bi and Hanifa Bi bagged first, second and third positions respectively.
In under 16 boys (100 meters), Nawab Ahmed, Mohammad Sajad and Navdeep Ahmed claimed first, second and third positions respectively, whereas, in 200 meters, Manbinder Singh, Mohammad Shakil and Imran Khan emerged winners.
In 400 meters, Mohammad Javid, Fareed Ahmed and Sajad Ahmed claimed first, second and third positions respectively, whereas in 800 meters, Nawab Ahmed, Nazir Hussain and Manpreet Singh emerged winners.
In under 19 boys (100 meters), Yaar Mohammad secured first position, whereas Nazir Hussain and Iftikhar Hussain bagged second and third positions respectively.
In 200 meters, Yaar Mohammad claimed first rank, while the second and third ranks were secured by Cham Kour Singh and Harpreet Singh respectively.
In 400 meters, Rhial Ahmed, Vasit Ali and Gurpreet Singh secured first, second and third positions respectively, whereas in 800 meters, Navdeep Singh, Mohammad Sarfraz and Zaffer Ahmed emerged winners.
In 1500 meters, Ishtiaq Ahmed claimed first position, whereas the second and third positions were bagged by Iftakhar Ahmed and Manu Sharma.
In 3000 meter, Zakir Hussain, Sajad Ahmed and Mohammad Alyias secured first, second and third positions respectively.
On the occasion, Prof Bagh Hussain, HoD, Zoology Department, Government Degree College was the chief guest, while Manzoor Hussain, Sarpanch, Kharikarma was the guest of honour.
The matches were officiated by Rajinder Singh, PEM, Lovinder Singh, Sourab Sharma and Nirdoush Kumar, PETs, Jarnail Singh teacher, and Harsimran Kour, BPed.
The championship was organized under the supervision of Gurmeet Singh, Organizing Secretary, District Athletic Association.
