1 killed, 4 injured in mishaps

SRINAGAR, Aug 12: One person was killed and four others were injured in different road accidents across the Kashmir valley today.
A police spokesman said that a collision took place between a motorcycle, JK01S/5599, and an unidentified Tavera near Samboora, Awantipora, resulting in injuries to the motorcyclist, Mohammad Yaseen Sheikh of Kadlabal, Pampore.
The spokesman said Sheikh succumbed to his injuries on way to hospital. A case has been registered in this regard.
A pedestrian, Zarifa wife of Ghulam Rasool Dar of Pazalpora was injured when she was hit by a Tavera, JK03C/9444, at Panzalpora in Anantnag district. She was shifted to Bijbehara hospital for treatment, the spokesman said.
A Tata Sumo JK15/1835 hit a Scooty near Saraf Mode in district Baramulla, resulting in injuries to the scooterist, Irfan Ahmed Sheikh son of Gul Mohammad and Saqib Manzoor son of Manzoor Ahmed Sheikh of Noorbagh, Baramulla. The injured were shifted to hospital for treatment.
The spokesman also said a motorcycle driven by Kamal Singh son of Pretam Singh of Kathua, Jammu hit and injured Numan Raja,6, son of Raja Abdul Salam Mir of Shivpora, Srinagar, near Karan Bagh on Boulevard Road here. The injured has been shifted to Bone and Joints Hospital, Srinagar for treatment.
