KKR picks Rasikh Salam at base price

JAMMU, Feb 13: Right arm fast medium bowler from Kulgam, Rasikh Salam sold to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the base price of Rs 20 lacs for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) in the mega auction, held at Bengaluru, here today.
The young cricket of J&K has recently made a comeback to professional cricket after serving a two year ban on age discrepancy.
However, the 22 year old player had played for Mumbai Indian and now he is going to represent KKR in the cash rich league. In the month of December, 2018, he was sold by the Mumbai Indians in the auction for the year of 2019. He became the fourth player from Jammu and Kashmir after Parvez Rasool, Abdul Samad and Umran Malik who have been picked for the cash rich league.
Rasikh also played for J&K under-25 and displayed his talent.
It is pertinent to mention here that Shreyas Iyer was sold by KKR at Rs 12.25 crores, followed by Pat Cimmins and Shivam Mavi at cost of 7.25 crores each, while Nitish Rana and Tim Southee were bought by the KKR at the cost of Rs 8 and 1.5 crores respectively.
