POONCH, Feb 16: District Administration Poonch has decided to launch a major crackdown against illegal mining and stone crushers running on state land and in violation of prescribed norms.
Deputy Commissioner, Inder Jeet has directed the District Mineral Officer to lodge FIR against persons found indulging in illegal extraction of minor minerals and to install boards at prominent places to notify rates of minor minerals.
Chairing a meeting of the Multi Departmental District Level Task Force in his office chamber, he directed to evict stone crushers built on state land and said sealing of those running without GST bill.
The meeting also discussed the implementation of notified rate of minor mineral and E-Auction of minor mineral Blocks in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner impressed upon the Task Force to work in close coordination and liaison for checking illegal mining in the district. He asked the SSP Poonch to provide all possible support to the checking squads to put in place a robust and formidable mechanism to tighten noose around the perpetrators.
The Irrigation Department was also asked to keep a close check on illegal extraction from the river beds and immediately report the matter to enforcement agencies on seeing any such activity.
The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police, Rohit Baskotra; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Basharat Hussain; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Zaheer Ahmed Kaifi; DFO(T), Suresh Manda; District Mining Officer, Javid Iqbal, besides other concerned officers.
