Expedite work on Eklavya School: DC Rajouri

RAJOURI, Feb 16: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal along with District Tribal Officer, Wakeel Ahmed Bhatt today paid a visit to under construction Eklavya Model Residential School at Gurdhan Balla to review the progress on the project.
Eklavya Model Residential School is a Government of India scheme for model residential school for Indian tribes across India and is one of the flagship intervention of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India
While taking stock of the progress on the project, the DDC was informed that the project has been approved at an estimated cost of Rs 1591.25 lacs and the total capacity of building would be of accommodating 480 students including 240 girls students and equal number of boys students.
DDC said that Eklavya Model school is an ambitious initiative of the Government of India to enable the tribal students to get quality education so they can compete with the students of the rest of the country.
Kundal also asked the executing agency to expedite the work on the project and ensure that the project is completed within the set deadlines so that necessary benefits are provided to the tribal students with the completion of this ambitious project. DDC also directed for adhering to the quality parameters while executing the work on the project.
