JAMMU, Aug 14: Ace tennis players of Jammu and Kashmir-Sumitpal Singh and Prinkle Singh entered the pre-quarterfinals of the ongoing All India Adidas TTT National Lawn Tennis Tournament at YMCA Complex, Chennai in Tamil Nadu today.
Earlier, in the first round, Sumitpal Singh defeated Inigo Arnold of Tamil Nadu in straight sets by (6-2, 6-0), while in the second round, he trounced Srivatsav of Andhra Pradesh in a close contest by (6-0, 4-6, 6-2). In pre-quarterfinals, Sumitpal will take on Kabir Manrai of Chandigarh tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Prinkle Singh also entered pre-quarterfinals of girls singles event. In the second round of this event, Prinkle drubbed Akansha Bhan of Gujarat by (6-3, 6-4), while in girls doubles event, Prinkle has made it to the quarterfinals.
In the pre-quarterfinals earlier, Prinkle alongwith her partner Pareen of Maharashtra defeated the Andhra Pradesh duo of Sheikh Humera and Dharna in straight sets by (6-1, 6-2).
