GOOL, Aug 14: The players of team Super Star, Gool, the champions of Intra-Tehsil Cricket Championship, Mahore, was felicitated during a function held by Rashtriya Rifles Battalion, under the aegis of Counter Insurgency Force (Uniform), here yesterday.
The Commanding Officer of the Rashtriya Rifles Battalion distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up teams, which included cricket jersey and kit for the winners.
Speaking on the occasion, the Commanding Officer assured the players that further assistance will also be provided by the Army. The Super Star team comprised of 14 players from the remote villages of Gool and adjacent area.
Earlier, 12 teams comprising of Army jawans and local youth took part in this tournament, the objective of which was to attract youth towards the game and encourage them to develop sportsman spirit.
Mohd Amin, skipper of the winning team alongwith team members expressed their gratitude to Army in conducting the tournament and said that such initiatives will go a long way in motivating youth to participate in games and sports.
