JAMMU, Feb 21: Peer Mitha police today solved a theft case by arresting a vehicle lifter and recovered stolen vehicle from his possession.
According to police sources, one person namely Shubam Suri son of Ashwani Kumar Suri, resident of Lower Mast Garh submitted a written complaint in police station Peer Mitha wherein he stated that his scooty bearing registration number JK02AX-9430 was stolen by someone from lower Mastgarh, in front of his house, where he had parked the vehicle.
“On receiving the complaint, a case FIR Number 11/22 under Section 379 of IPC was registered at police station Peer Mitha and during course of investigation, a police team headed by SHO Peer Mitha Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq rounded up one suspect namely Ripu Daman son of Shubhdweep Singh, resident of Mubarak Mandi for questioning,” sources said.
They said during questioning, the suspect accepted that he had stolen the scooty and on his disclosure, the stolen scooty was recovered from him. “Besides, one more scooty (Honda Activa) bearing registration number JK02BJ-0380 stolen from Nowabad area was also recovered on his disclosure,” sources said, adding, further investigation in the case was on.
