Three drug peddlers arrested with heroin

JAMMU, Feb 27: Bahu Fort and Bagh-e-Bahu Police arrested three drug peddlers and recovered heroin from their possession.
As per police sources, on reliable information a team from Police Station Bahu Fort led by PSI Adarsh Thakur under the under the supervision of SHO Bahu Fort Inspector Nayat Ali and SDPO East Syed Zaheer Abbas Jafari laid a naka and asked two pedestrian to stop for checking as they were moving under suspicious circumstances.
On seeing cops, the pedestrian tried to escape but were intercepted after a brief chase.
During checking, police team recovered 10 grams heroin from the possession of the pedestrians and arrested them.
The arrested persons were identified as Rahul Singh Jamwal, son of late Ramesh Singh Jamwal of Channi Rama District Jammu and Amit Isher, son of Bodh Raj of Channi Himmat District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 62/2022 under Section 8/21/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment and other persons involved in this illegal trade.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Bagh-e-Bahu led by SHO Inspector Arjun Singh Chib under the supervision of SDPO East Syed Zaheer Abbas Jafari laid a naka and apprehended a drug peddler along with 5 grams heroin.
The arrested person was identified as Arun Mehra, son of Madan Lal of Sheikh Nagar Bahu Fort District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 18/2022 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bagh-e-Bahu and investigation started.
