REASI, Aug 16: Screening of wrestlers in Pouni zone of Reasi for the forthcoming District and State Level Indian Style Wrestling championships was held under the supervision of Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, joint secretary, J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, here.
50 young wrestlers selected in this drive have been drawn from the villages of Bhambla, Godar, Laiter, Dadooa, Ransoo, Kotla, Pouni, Kundkhanyari, Dhanwan, Talwara and Kheral.
The selected wrestlers would participate in coming District Reasi Championship scheduled to be held at Aghar Jitto on August 19, 2013 which will be followed by technical camps, wherein the basic tricks and techniques of the wrestlers would be sharpened.
This wrestling talent hunt drive was organjsed on the directions and guidelines of Shiv Kumar Sharma, president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association.
Meanwhile, awareness among youths of various institutions regarding games and sports by means of lectures was also the part of this drive.
Harish Dubey, Zonal Education Officer Pouni provided all possible help in conducting this drive.
Those who helped in the conduct of drive included Rashpal Sharma (Sarpanch Bhambla), Pawan Sharma, Jagdish Sharma, Sunil Kumar, Rajinder Kumar, Rakesh Sharma, Gharru Ram, Daleep Kumar, Capt Deep Singh, Jugal Kumar and Shashi Paul.
