Vehicle involved in smuggling bovine animals seized, 2 arrested

JAMMU, Mar 2: Nagrota Police seized a vehicle involved in bovine animals smuggling and arrested two persons.
As per police sources, on reliable information a team from Police Station Nagrota led by SHO Inspector Vishav Pratap Singh under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Pardeep Kumar laid a naka near Ban Toll Plaza and intercepted a Kashmir bound vehicle bearing registration number JK02AQ-6571.
During checking, police team rescued 15 bovine animals kept hidden beneath gas cylinders and seized the vehicle.
Two cattle smugglers identified as Ahmed Din of Sarl Tehsil Haveli District Poonch and Mohammad Ashraf, son of Talab Hussain of Talwara District Reasi were also arrested on the spot.
A case under FIR Number 78/2022 under Sections 188 and 34 IPC and 11 PCA has been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
