UDHAMPUR, June 6: Various banks have advanced Rs 138.76 crore amongst 6357 beneficiaries in the district against set yearly target of Rs 132.94 crores under Priority Sector advances till ending March, 2012 registering an overall achievement of 104 percent.
This was disclosed during a meeting of District Level Review Committee cum District Consultative Committee (DLRC/DCC) of bankers and district officers of various Government Departments of district Udhampur held under the chairmanship of Additional District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Ram Rattan Sharma.
The banks have disbursed Rs. 25.70 crore to Agriculture Sector, Rs.113.06 Crore under Industries and Services sector, besides lending Rs. 45.97crores under non priority sector advances till ending March, 2012.
Total deposits go up from Rs. 1599.13 crore in third quarter to Rs. 1715.86 crore up to the last quarter of the previous financial year with an increase of 7 percent.
In the meeting, detailed review was held on various points which mainly include promotion of Self Help Groups (SHGs), performance of different banks under various Government sponsored schemes, achievement under agriculture sector, bank wise position of deposits and advances in Udhampur district, ground level credit flow under District Credit Plan and position of Kissan Credit Cards (KCCs) and SHGs issued by various banks.
Sharma instructed the banks to promote more and more SHGs cases beside liberally issue the KCCs and GCCs among the farmers and general public in order to provide maximum benefits and facilities by the banks.
Joint Director Planning, Rakesh Jamwal, Manager Lead Bank, SBI, Kishore Sadhotra, representative from RBI, Anil Kumar, AGM, NABARD, Manohar Lal, Project Officer DRDA, Udhampur and officers of line departments also attended the meeting.
