JKSC orders probe over re-conduct of Fencing trials

JAMMU, Mar 9: In the backdrop of the allegations levelled by one of the parents of selected player on re-conduct of trials in Fencing Sabre Men team, the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council (JKSC) ordered a probe to ascertain the reasons for re-conduct of trials, here today.
In a letter issued by the JKSC Administrative Officer to the Divisional Sports Officer Jammu wherein he has been directed to find out the reasons for re-conduct of trials without any intimation to the already selected players and co-opt Krupali Singh senior Gymnastic coach for this purpose.
As per official order No: SC/711/1985-86 dated 9/3/2022 to the Divisional Sports Officer (J), the Administrative Officer has said that he has been directed to enclose a copy of representation dated 8/3/2022 from Kuldeep Kumar Gupta, father of Fencer, Vansh Mahajan, alleging therein unfair selection trials in Sabre Fencing event in connection with participation in J&K team for 32nd Senior National Fencing Championship, scheduled to be held at Amritsar from March 13 to 16.
“The complaint also read that trials were already conducted on February 19 and the reasons for re-conduct of trials have not been elucidated.”
