JAMMU, Mar 10: The NSS Unit of Government College of Education Jammu under the patronage of Principal Dr Kulvinder Kour organized an informative webinar on “Swachhta Action Plan” in collaboration with Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE), which functions under the Ministry of Human Resource Development and strives to promote resilient rural India through higher education interventions.
Ajay Tanwar, Consultant MGNCRE was the key speaker, who explained the importance of cleanliness and Swachh Bharat Scheme. He also interacted with the students and solved their queries patiently. Samartha Sharma, Consultant, MGNCRE enlightened the students about the importance of sanitation, the need for behavioral changes and personal and environmental hygiene.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Kulvinder Kour said that hygiene and hygienic practices in life are critical for health not only to improve a living environment but also to elevate our thinking to a more pure and healthy state.
She said that NSS Unit of GCOE headed by Programme Officer Dr Shubhra Jamwal is very much active in Swachhta related activities and leaving no stone unturned to achieve the objectives behind the Swachh Bharat Scheme.
Prof Sarita Dogra, Prof Shapia Shameem Bhatti, Prof Seema Kumari, Prof Neeraj Verma and NSS volunteers participated in the awareness program with great enthusiasm. Arushi Sharma gave a formal address while as Anu delivered the vote of thanks.
