JAMMU, Mar 11: A daylong District Jammu Wrestling Championship-2021-22, organized by Wrestling Association of J&K, concluded at Wrestling Hall University of Jammu under the auspices of Wrestling Federation of India, J&K Sports Council and J&K Olympic Association, here today.
Dawood Iqbal Baba, Director Sports and Physical Education University of Jammu was the chief guest of the opening ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Dawood Iqbal Baba encouraged the young talent and gave best wishes to the participating wrestlers and also congratulated the organizers for organising the event in a very smooth manner.
Large number of prominent citizens including former wrestlers were present during the opening ceremony along with Dheeraj Sharma, chairman organizing committee, Om Parkash, Ravinder Kumar, Krishan Singh, Diler Khan, Anil Kumar, Ajay Bharti and others.
In 57 kg, Anil Singh and Rohit Sharma won gold and silver medals respectively, while Sumit Sagotra and Vishal Bhau shared bronze medal, while in 65 kg, top two medals were secured by Keshav Singh and Rahul Mehra and Abhishek Lahoria and Abhish Verma shared bronze medal and in 70 kg, Sunil Singh won gold, Mohd Gh. Sawar secured silver and Baljit Kumar and Neeraj Kumar jointly won the bronze medal.
In 79 kg, Amarjit and Gulshan Chib clinched gold and silver, while Avinabh Lal and Mohit Singh shared bronze medal, while in 86 kg,  Sahil Singh and Arun Sharma secured top two medals respectively  and in 92 kg, top two medals were won by Amit Singh and Vireshwar Bhardwaj respectively.
