The communal clashes that erupted in Kishtwar after Eid prayers is a blot on a secular society. The Govt. was rapped over knuckles by the opposition parties for its failure to prevent clashes at its very outset. Further the statements by religious leaders aggravated the situation and spread like a wild fire.
Hinduism and Islam may be different on certain respects but neither of them preach violence and hatred. Communal violence is like a cancer for the secular State and this has to be eradicated lock,stock and barrel from the State.
Further right to practice, promote and propogate a religion is a fundamental right in our constitution and to promote brotherhood and communal harmony is a fundamental duty. Now it is time for the political and religious people to come forward and frustrate the designs of communal forces.
