UDHAMPUR, Aug 19: National Secular Forum has demanded opening of a Government Degree College at Majalta tehsil to facilitate needs of the student community.
In support of the demand, the NSF activists held a protest at Manwal and raised slogans against the State Government.
The protest demonstration was addressed by Neeraj Dabgotra, general secretary Udhampur district, who alleged that the State Government had ignored Majalta tehsil while opening new degree colleges. “Located about 48 kilometers away from Udhampur; students of Majalta tehsil have to either go to Udhampur or Samba for higher studies, he explained and also threatened to launch a vigorous agitation if the demand is not conceded by the Government.
