SAMBA, Aug 19: A meeting of the Vishwakarma Dogra Labour Union (VDLU) was held here today under the chairmanship of Kuldeep Raj Chalotra at Jakh, wherein the participants urged the Government to issue BPL cards to the deserving people.
The meeting which was attended by hundreds of labourers from nearby villages, asked the labourers to strengthen the Union to fight for their rights effectively.
Addressing the participants, Chalotra urged the labourers to participate in the Union’s program scheduled to be held on September 17, 2013 at Vishwakarma Mandir, Muthi (Jammu) on the eve of Vishwakarma Pooja Divas.
Senior vice-president of the Union, Sanjay Radha, requested the Government to issue BPL cards to the deserving people, as he alleged that deserving people have been ignored while some influential people managed to get BPL cards.
