JAMMU, Aug 21: To participate in the 15th sub junior, 26th junior girls and 26th senior women National Tug-of-War Championship to be held from August 23 to August 26, 2013, the State teams left for the venue at Rai Bareily, Uttar Pradesh, today.
Earlier, the teams were selected during a camp organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Tug-of-War Association at Unique Public Higher Secondary School, Gadigarh, Jammu which was attended by 45 players, out of which 27 were selected by a panel of experts including president of the Association, Hardeep Singh Anand, general secretary, Ravinder Singh Sasan, Deepjot Singh Anand and Ajay Peshin.
The teams:
Sub Junior Girls: Shruti, Sapna, Natalia, Gurleen, Tableen, Serbjeet, Manpreet, Shriya and Samikaha, while Gorav Dubey is accompanying the team as coach.
Junior Girls: Meenu, Taniya, Preeti, Sheefali, Neha, Madhu, Suman, Sheetal and Priya, while Ashkush Badyal is the team coach.
Senior Women: Sahibdeep, Manju, Kanchan, Lalita, Anu, Indu, Pooja, Suman and Anupama, while Meena Kumari is accompanying the team as coach and Babu Ram Sharma as manager.
Meanwhile, kits sponsored by Hotel Asia, Jammu, were distributed among the players by the Association prior to their departure.
