JKP to lock horns with Jammu Central in finals

JAMMU, Mar 19: JKP will lock horns with Jammu Central in the final summit of the UT level Senior Men Championship, being organised by Hockey J&K at KK Hakku Stadium, here tomorrow.
In the semi-final clashes, here today, JKP defeated Jammu East by 5 goals to 1, wherein Sat Pal Singh, Chief Coach and Manager KK Hakku Stadium was the chief guest and introduced the players.
Jaspreet Singh (Jimmy) scored 2 goals, whereas Sohail Azim also netted 2 goals and Sikander Pal scored 1 goal for JKP, besides for Jammu East, a lone goal was scored by Maganjit Singh in the last minute of the match by penalty corner.
In the 2nd semi-final match between Jammu Central and Kathua, which was won by Jammu Central by a margin of 4 goals to 3, Jammu Central team players including Karandeep Singh, Rajbir Singh, Suraj Malik and Gagandeep Singh scored 1 goal each in the 9th, 12th, 16th and 26th minutes of the game respectively, while Kathua scored 3 goals in the 34th, 41st and 55th minutes of game by Varinder, Sanjay and Sandeep Singh respectively. Gurmeet Singh (Rtd Chief Engineer) was the chief guest of the second match.
Tanveerul Haq, Brijesh Kumar, Salim and Sunil from Hockey India officiated the today’s matches along with Anjali Thakur and Minakshi Khajuria.
