UDHAMPUR, Aug 23: The Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) celebrated its 48th Raising Day, here today.
Functions to mark the occasion were held at almost all the major towns and cities in the State with the main function being held at Udhampur.
The celebrations were marked by various competitions for members as also conduct of workshops, seminars, lectures, medical camps and entertainment programmes.
The Veer Naris (widows of martyrs) were given special focus during the above celebrations. Special meets were held alongwith other celebrations to address their issues and problems.
The Regional Presidents Awards were also conferred on selected ladies for their outstanding contribution to the organization during the year.
In her message to the members, Mrs Anshul Chachra, Regional President AWWA exhorted the fraternity to contribute to and support Nation Building and undertake activities that not only enable the organization to achieve its goals but also impact positively on society and nation at large.
