Bovine smuggling bid foiled

DODA, Mar 28: Gandoh police today foiled a bovine smuggling bid and arrested three smugglers.
“During routine naka checking at Trithloo in Gandoh area, a team of police station Gandoh led by SHO Inspector Vikram Singh intercepted a load carrier (Tata Mobile) bearing registration number JK06A-9916 which was on its way from Changa towards Kahara,” a police official said.
He said on checking of the vehicle, 3 cows and a calf were found loaded in it without any valid permission of transporting the bovines, following which driver of the vehicle identified as Mohd Younis Batt son of Ghulam Mohd Batt of Dudwar (Gandoh) and two of his accomplices were arrested.
The vehicle was also seized and a case under relevant sections of law was registered in police station Gandoh under the overall supervision of SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom, ASP Bhaderwah Aftab Mir and SDPO Gandoh Shahzada Kabir Matto.
