JAMMU, Mar 30: Director Sports cum State Chief Commissioner, Gazanfar Ali distributed sports kits among the students and youth of slum in a function, which was organised by J&K Bharat Scout and Guides (BS&G) at Sangharsh Vidya Kender Maratha Colony, here today.
Bashir Ahmed, Joint Director YS&S, Nasreen Khan, Secretary J&K BS&G and DYSSO Sukhdev Sharma were also present. Kanchan Sharma, Head of the School welcomed the guests and narrated the history of the School for slum children.
The Director Sports appreciated Kanchan Sharma and other teachers of the School who with high energy and enthusiasm teaching the slum children in the Colony that too without any monetary benefits. He was delighted and happy while talking with a few students by knowing their interest/aim to be in the future as most of the boys want to become IAS and girls want to become doctors.
He assured all the possible support from his side as well as from the Department of Youth Services and Sports. He also donated Rs one lakh from his own for the progress and development of School children.
