18th UT Fencing Championship concludes

JAMMU, Mar 31: The 18th UT J&K Fencing Championship (M&W) 2021-22 concluded at Indoor Fencing Hall, MA Stadium here. The championship was organized by J&K Amateur Fencing Association in collaboration with J&K Sports Council.
Dr Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion and MJ Sharma, President J&K AFA was the guest of honour who distributed prizes and medals amongst the winners.
The overall championship trophy in Men’s Section was bagged by District Jammu whereas in Women Section, District Srinagar bagged the overall championship trophy.
Others present on the occasion were UC Rahi, Bhanu Vijay Sharma and parents of the fencers.
Earlier, the welcome address was presented by Shotu Lal Sharma, Organizing Secretary.
In the championship, more than 300 fencers (boys and girls) from different district of UT of J&K participated.
Rashid Ahmed Choudhary, Convener Adhoc Committee of J&K Amateur Fencing Association presented vote of thanks.
Shotu Lal Sharma was Organizing Secretary of the championship and Pritam Singh Slathia acted as the Competition Director and Shivani Hans as Joint Competition Director.
