Pundir misses ton as J&K suffers innings defeat

JAMMU, Apr 1: J&K skipper Shubham Singh Pundir missed century by a whisker and Musaif Ajaz contributed magnificent 65 runs but their effort was not enough to save Jammu and Kashmir from an innings defeat against Punjab at Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium, New Delhi.
J&K lost the match by an innings and 27 runs. Earlier, resuming from an overnight score of 85/2, Henan Nazir and Shubham Pundir took the score to 152 runs in 43.1 overs before Henan was dismissed at his individual score of 74 runs off 91 balls, studded with 14 boundaries.
Pundir was in sublime touch and after the early dismissal of Kanhaiya Wadhawan for just 5 runs, was joined by Musaif Ajaz in the middle and the duo took the score to 255 in 79.5 overs before Pundir was dismissed on 99. He faced 171 balls and hit 15 delectable boundaries. Musaif made 65 off 116 balls, studded with 7 fours and one six. Sahil Lotra (27*) and Auqib Nabi (16) guided the team to score 343 runs in 100.5 overs, thus lost the match by an innings and 27 runs.
For Punjab Aryaman Dhaliwal was the pick of the bowlers, who took 5 wickets, while Vishwa Pratap Singh bagged 3 wickets.
