Rasool sparkles in Dhaka Premier League

JAMMU, Apr 5: Former J&K skipper and all-rounder Parvez Rasool blossomed with both ball and the willow to help Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club (SJDC) script a narrow 1-wicket win over equally formidable Prime Bank Cricket Club (PBCC) in Dhaka Premier League at Dhaka today.
Earlier, batting first, PBCC scored a good total of 265 runs in 50 overs, losing 9 wickets in the process. Anamul Haque (77) and Abhimanyu Easwaran (62) were the main contributors. For SJDC, Parvez Rasool was the pick of the bowlers, who took 4 wickets by conceding 25 runs in his 20 overs, while Mritunjoy Choudhary and Taibur Rehman took 2 wickets each.
In reply, SJDC registered a thrilling victory by one wicket on penultimate ball of their innings. Shykat Ali (65), skipper Imrul Kayes (52) and Parvez Rasool (65 not out) were the architects of SJDC’s victory. Rasool scored the runs in 51 balls, studded with 7 fours and 2 massive sixes. For superb all-round display, he was adjudged as the man of the match.
