Das slams ton; Lotra, Abid restrict Tripura to 279

JAMMU, Apr 5: Tripura’s opening batsman Bikram Kumar Das slammed a magnificent century and alongwith skipper and number-3 batsman Sridam Paul added 115 runs for the second wicket, before off-spinner Sahil Lotra and left-arm spinner Abid Mushtaq restricted Tripura to 279 runs in 88.5 overs in CK Nayudu Under-25 Trophy at Karnail Singh Stadium, New Delhi, today.
Batting first, Tripura openers began in style and made a partnership of 65 runs before SS Sutradhar was dismissed at his individual score of 29 runs. Another opener, Bikram Kumar Das continued to play with grit and tenacity and along with his skipper Sridam Paul took the score to 180 runs before Paul was dismissed for 59 runs off 121 balls, studded with 5 fours and 2 sixes. Das was in sublime touch and hit the ball with fluidity and grace to notch up magnificent ton (112) off 208 balls with 14 boundaries. He alongwith wicketkeeper SD Debbarma and Arjun Debnath took the score to 279 runs.
For J&K, Sahil Lotra was the pick of the bowlers who took 4 important wickets by conceding 77 runs in 28 overs, while Abid Mushtaq also captured 4 wickets by giving away 76 runs in 26.5 overs. Medium pacer Waseem Bashir and left-arm spinner Taizeem Younis Tak claimed one wicket each.
