Theatre Workshop concludes with scintillating performances

JAMMU, Apr 5: The seven day theatre workshop organized by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) for the college students successfully concluded at K.L Saigal Hall here today.
Speaking on the occasion Sanjeev Rana, Additional Secretary JKAACL said, this was the first workshop in Jammu after COVID-19 and it was exclusively organised for the students to provide them psychological relief and teach them theatre art.
Dr. Sudhir Mahajan, Director of the workshop, in his message said that aim of the workshop was not to make the students actors but to aware them about techniques of theatre and provide them an adequate opportunity to manifest and develop their personalities.
Four short improvised plays prepared by the students on the various socio-political themes were performed with the techniques learned by the students during the workshop.
The students were given participation certificates.
Sanjeev Gupta, SOCA JKAACL; Anil Tickoo, ACO JKAACL and Pankaj Gupta, LO Abhinav Theatre were the in-house faculty while Tara Chand and Vimal Kumar provided the sound.
The programme was also anchored by students—Sonia and Gunjan.
The students who participated in the workshop were Aarti Padwal, Pooja Sharma, Manyaveer Singh Thakur, Sanchit Sharma, Rimjhim Pandita, Himanshu Sharma, Siya Gupta, Abhilasha Gupta, Vibhuti Sharma, Piya Gupta, Rubam Sharma, Sourav Sharma, Farzana Kouser, Pardeep Singh Bali, Divya Surmal, Parshotam Singh Bali, Ankita Devi, Harsh Dev, Kiran Gouray, Sandeep Sharma, Anu Sharma, Harvinder Kaur, Satyam Dutta, Megha Sharma, Karanvir Singh, Karanpreet Singh, Arun Singh Jamwal, Ashish Parihar, Saket Sharma, Dushyant Khajuria, Rahul Kaith, Gunjan Gupta, Shaku Sharma, Meridu Khajuria, Sonia Salgotra, Ayush Mahajan, Nikhil Sharma and Sonam Angchuk.
