JAMMU, Aug 27: Hemant Kumar Sharma, Director Command Area (DCA) inspected the on farm development works in Akhnoor and Khour blocks under Partab Canal project.
The Director inspected the villages Navi Basti Nud, Davipur, Dalpath, Sitwual, Maniwala, Nikya, Popure and Dhanpur. He asked the executing agencies to complete all on going works in stipulated time frame. He advised the local farmers to take maximum benefit from various schemes.
He interacted with farmers of the area and appreciated the quality of work done by the technical officers of the department. The farmers also appreciated the role of department in the construction of concrete channels which has reduced the seepage losses there by providing the water at tail ends and also increasing the area under irrigations as well as the productivity of crops.
The Director issued on spot instructions to the officers to take care of needs and demands of the farmers and redouble their efforts so that the targets are achieved well in future.
Others who accompanied on the occasion were V R Parihar, Project Officer CAD, M A Khatib, Assistance Soil Conservation Officer, RRD and other technical staff of CAD, Jammu.
