SRINAGAR, Aug 27: High Court today directed top officials of Pollution Control Board and Chief Executive Officer Economic Reconstruction Agency to visit the Achan dumping site to “resolve” whether there is a leachate treatment plant on the ground or not.
A Division Bench of the High Court comprising Chief Justice M M Kumar and Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur directed Member Secretary PCB Arun Kumar Tickoo and CEO ERA Tahseen Mustafa, who were present during the proceedings, to visit the site.
The direction was issued after the Government filed conflicting reports over the existence of the treatment plant.
