JAMMU, Apr 17: One person died today in a road accident in Poonch and another lost his life in a road mishap in Rajouri district.
According to police sources, a vehicle hit and severely injured a pedestrian identified as Mohd Shafi son of Mohd Hussain, resident of Suthra Bowli near Khakhanawan Temple, DC Office road. The injured person was immediately shifted to District Hospital Poonch where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors. The body was handed over to his family after all medico-legal legal formalities.
Meanwhile, a pedestrian namely Khrayti Lal (60) son of Nand Lal, resident of Jhanger, was reportedly hit by an unidentified motorcycle at Jhanger. The pedestrian sustained grievous injuries in the mishap and was rushed to SDH Nowshera but he died on the way to the Hospital. His dead body shifted to SDH Nowshera. The deceased was presently working as priest at Baba Biram Shah Gurudwara, Jhanger.
In both cases, the concerned police had taken cognizance.
