9 hurt as Tavera lands into nallah

A vehicle which fell from a bridge in Sunderbani on Thursday.

NOWSHERA, Aug 29: Nine persons were injured, three of them seriously when a Tavera vehicle fell into a nallah from a bridge near Thanda Pani in Sunderbani area today.
A police spokesman said that mishap took place when the vehicle bearing registration number JK02AB/5982 was on way to Mendhar from Jammu. As it reached at Thana Mandi the driver lost control on the speeding vehicle at a curve on the bridge and it fell into the nallah after breaking the side railing at around 11 am.
Immediately after the mishap the people of the area rushed towards the site. The police also reached there after some time. The injured were shifted to Sunderbani Hospital. Eight were later referred to GMC Hospital Jammu and the condition of three was said to be serious. Majority of them were from Mendhar area.
The injured were identified as Driver Ashwani Kumar, son of Naresh Kumar of Rehari in Jammu, Mohd Naseem, son of Nazir Hussain of Mendhar, Naresh Chander, son of Pritam Chand of Mendhar, Shafiq Ahmed, son of Abdul Ghani of Mendhar, Vinod Kumar (MES), son of Harbans Lal of Punjab, Manoj Kumar, son of Satvir from Bihar, Mohd Rashid, son of Sarfraz Din from Bihar, Aatish, son of Mullah Din of Bihar and Mohd Latief, son of Ansari from Nepal.
