JAMMU, Apr 24:The standing wheat crop on two kanals of land was totally destroyed in devastating fire in the Randhwal village in Ghagwal tehsil of Samba district today.
The land belonged to Ashok Singh who said he had sown the wheat crop in three Kanals of land out of which the crop on two Kanals was totally destroyed. However the fire was controlled from spreading to other fields as the fire brigade reached the spot within minutes and controlled the blaze.
Ashok Singh suspected a foul play saying that it is the mischief of someone as the crop caught fire suddenly.
Meanwhile, two hutments of Ramesh Chander were also razed to ground in devastating fire in the Samlah Panchayat in Samba district today. The fire was controlled from spreading further after the fire tender reached the spot within some minutes and doused the blaze.
