J&K’s Prinkle, Sumitpal bring laurels

JAMMU, Aug 30: Sumitpal Singh and Prinkle Singh of Jammu and Kashmir brought laurels to State in All India Ranking Lawn Tennis Talent Series of AITA in doubles event of Under-16 age group going on at Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association Stadium Sector-10 Chandigarh.
In the final, Sumitpal Singh and Digvijay Pratap Singh of Haryana beat Vikrant Dahiya and Eklavya of Jharkhand by (4 -2, 5 -3 )in straight sets.
Earlier, in the semifinal, the duo defeated Sabrang Sandal and Reshab Sharda of Chandigarh by (4-1, 4-1), while in the quarterfinal, the duo got better of Srijan and Mohan of Uttar Pradesh by (4-1, 4 -2) and in pre-quarterfinal, the duo outplayed Rohit Kumar and Paras Dahiya of Haryana.
On the other hand, talented Prinkle Singh another Tennis Player of Jammu and Kashmir won the final in Under-16 girls singles category by defeating strong Janat Khorana of Punjab by (6 -4, 6 -1), while in semifinal, Prinkle Singh defeated Bani Singh, a trainee of Harvest Tennis Academy Jassowal, Ludhiana Punjab by (6 -4, 6 -4) and in quarterfinal, Prinkle defeated Haleen of Punjab by (6 -3, 6-1).
Earlier, in pre-quarterfinal, Prinkle Singh defeated Aashta of Chandigarh by (9 -1), while in the first round, Prinkle Singh defeated Ibadat Kaur of Punjab by (9 -1).
