SAMBA, May 4: Loads of goods and articles were seized today by Vijaypur Municipal Committee(MC) during an anti-encroachment drive conducted along Jammu- Pathankot National Highway (NH) and Market area of Vijaypur town.
The drive was conducted by the Municipality Vijaypur in association with JK Police after receiving complaints from various quarters about encroachment on Highway, service lanes and minor roads. The anti encroachment team was led by Executive Officer Ravi Saini and SHO Rajeev Kumar.
The team seized all the goods including tools kept by the shopkeepers on the lanes and removed reharies and make-shift shops from the service lanes. In total, around a truck-load of goods were seized by the team during its drive.
Meanwhile, the administration has appealed to shopkeepers and hawkers to adhere to the instructions and sell the vegetables, fruits and goods in the Rehari zone only.
