JAMMU, May 9: Eminent poetess, Vyangyakar, Ghazalkar, painter, artist and cricketer—Anila Singh Charak was conferred Amrita Pritam Samman in Nepal where she represented India in a three day Sahitya Mahotsav organised to strengthen ties between Nepal and India and to exchange art and literary culture between the two countries.
Writers from entire India attended the function the very first day of which was followed by Mushaira in which many writers from Nepal and India participated and Anila enthralled the audience with her Ghazal.
On this occasion the book written by Anila Singh Charak ‘Mask Ke Peeche Kya Hai’ (a collection of satirical prose pieces) was released by Vice Chancellor Lalit Kala University, K.K Karmacharya.
On second day panel discussion was held on the theme ‘Empowerment of Women’ in which Anila Singh giving vent to her thoughts said that women should use her powers in a positive day for the up-liftment of society and country. Her views were highly appreciated by the audience.
