REASI, May 10: With an aim to promote local sports and also to provide opportunity to local youth, District Police Reasi in an innovative initiative organised River Rafting event for youth of the area.
In first phase of the event which was organized today, around 20 students from Gurukul Higher Secondary School Reasi participated and enjoyed the moments.
Taking all precautions in the event, the students enjoyed river rafting for around 3 kilometers in river Chenab from Namblan to Kansi Patta.
As a precautionary measure, J&K UTDRF team was also kept on standby near the venue to act in any exigency.
Amit Gupta SSP Reasi while sharing the details conveyed that motive behind organizing such events under Civic Action Programme is to promote local adventure sports and also to provide opportunity and platform for local youth of the area.
He further added that Reasi Police is also going to organize a training program for rafting to provide opportunity for self employment for local youth of the area and police will also organize a UT level rafting competition in near future.
