HC’s directive to Govt

SRINAGAR, Sept 2: High Court today directed the Deputy Commissioner Kupwara to submit correct report over the land occupied by Rash Builders in the district, including the Kacharai land.
A Division Bench of the High Court comprising Chief Justice M M Kumar and Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur also directed the Deputy Commissioner, Itrat Hussain Rafiquee, through Advocate General M I Qadri to submit visual reports about pollution in nallah Mavar, a fresh water stream.
The court passed these directions after contradictory statements were filed by revenue authorities of the district in its report.
The Bench was hearing Public Interest Litigation filed by Advocate Ghulam Murtaza to seek protection of Mavar nallah in Handwara area and removal of hot and wet mix plants built around the nallah and on the Kacharai land.
The Deputy Commissioner, in its report, had pointed out that “enormous violations have been done around the nallah by estabilishing the plants which are also causing public nuisance.
Advocate Zaffar Shah appeared for Rash builders.
