SAMBA, May 21: Day long District Judo Championship was organized by District Association at Vaid Higher Secondary School Vijaypur under the aegis of J&K Sports Council, here today.
About 70 Judokas participated in the championship.
Shashi Paul, Principal of the host School was the chief guest, while Abhishek Vaid was the guest of honour on the occasion. The bouts were officiated by Manish Chatwal, Judo Instructor and Sonakshi Sharma.
In sub junior boys (30kg), Vansh Kumar, Raj and Shivam stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively, while in 40 kg, top three places were secured by Pranav Vaid, Varun Sharma and Parav, in 45 kg, Rudra and Suddanshu remained 1st and 2nd, in 55kg, first two places were secured by Ashmeet Singh and Gourav.
In cadet (45kg), Krish Mangotra, Lucky Kumar and Krishna Mehra, while in 50kg, top three places were clinched by Lalu Singh, Daksh and Kunal Sharma and in 55 kg, Akash Sharma stood 1st, Gurvinder Singh remained 2nd and Harjeet and Vijay Kumar shared 3rd place.
In 60 kg Category, Emon Chouhan and Vansh stood 1st and 2nd, while in 73 kg, Sushant and Harish Bhagat remained 1st and 2nd and in under-10 (25kg), first three places were clinched by Sahil, Manik and Prince respectively, in 35 kg, Madhan Sharma and Vansh stood 1st and 2nd, in 32 kg (Girls), first three places were secured by Mehar, Anshika and Sania and in sub junior (40kg), Gudiya, Kamal Preet and Bhumika respectively.
In 48 kg, EMS Suntal, Bhawana and Chinki won first three places, while in plus 48 kg, Sneha Sharma and Paramjeet Kour stood 1st and 2nd and in 57 kg, Tamana Devi, Jaanvi Devi and Astha stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively, besides in 73 kg, Prachi Verma and Priyanka remained 1st and 2nd.
