Feroz reviews functioning of Education Deptt

JAMMU, Sept 5: Minister of State for School Education Medical Education, Feroz Ahmed Khan, today asked the officers of Education Department to chalk out strategies for effective implementation of State and Centrally sponsored programmes at grass root level.
The Minister said this while chairing a meeting of CEOs, Principals and other concerned officers held to review the physical and financial achievements of the department.
Director School Education, P.K. Pole, was also present in the meeting.
The Minster sought detail of implementation of various projects under SSA, RMSA, MG NREGA being done in education sector. He was apprised that most of the development projects taken in hand have been completed and the rest would be completed in a time bound manner.
The meeting had detailed discussion over scholarship, upgradation and opening of Government run educational institutions besides construction of additional class rooms, status of staff and vacant posts.
The Minister directed the concerned authorities to expedite the construction works on prestigious projects particularly in far-off pockets and use funds optimally to achieve the set targets. He asked the officers to strictly adhere to the prescribed norms and guidelines under different programmes to achieve desired results. He said that Government has prioritized the education sector and it is the prime duty of teaching fraternity to impart quality and moral education to the students.
Earlier, the Minster attended a valedictory function organized by J&K State Council for Science & Technology and National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT) at Jammu University. He distributed certificates among the trainees who attended four month course based on Skill Development Programme on Operation, Maintenance and Servicing of Hospital Equipments, Advanced Equipments like Microscope, colorimeter, spectrophotometer, centrifuge, PH meter, HB meter, ECG machine etc.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister asked the trainees to optimally utilize the expertise attained in the programme which envisaged training to undertake repair and maintenance of hospital equipments as there is dearth of such trained persons in the State.
