JAMMU, May 28: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) in its special meeting here today discussed working of various departments.
During meeting the Councillors of different Wards raised issues regarding working of different departments which were answered by officers from the concerned departments.
The participating departments included police, traffic police, Jal Shakti Department, Power Development Department (PDD), Jammu Development Authority (JDA) etc.
The meeting was chaired by JMC Mayor, Chander Mohan Gupta and co-chaired by Deputy Mayor, Purnima Sharma and Commissioner JMC, Rahul Yadav.
Main issues which came under discussion were that of poor water supply and poor function of PDD and the Councillors said that pipes for water supply are very old in most of the areas of Jammu and should be replaced immediately.
They also raised the issue of no standby transformer with PDD due to which the people have to suffer in case the transformer gets damaged.
Joint Commissioner Smart City Project informed the meeting about Smart City Project and issue of not including of certain areas like Sainik Colony for beautification under the project were raised.
The meeting started at about 11 am and concluded at 6 pm during which different departments were asked to resolve the issue of the public on priority.
